My question is realistically what super hero concepts/ideas can you say Marvel doesn't own to some extent? How broad can you take that concept?
What idea isn't copywrited these days?
Is anything in the Public Domain anymore? I know that the time periods for things until they become part of the Public Domain (and therefore free game) has gotten longer and longer. If it wasn't for lobbyists to extend these time periods Mickey Mouse would be in the public domain by now. Eventually we will have no new art because everything will be derivative and the source with copywrite protected.
