Jul. 20th, 2004 07:25 amFriday, I cleaned a bit, made brownies, and my sweetie came up (yeah!) and we went out to Indian food. We were both fairly tired and the food was good….mmm….curry. Indian food is just one of the best things on earth. Indian food with people you care about is even better :)
After that we headed back to my place and watched Dude, where’s my Timeline? This was an awesome movie. The director’s cut was great and it was really stimulating. The special effects were well done and I am now possessed with the strange belief that Ashton Kucher can act. The thing on I admire most about this movie is it doesn’t all necessarily end happily.
About midnight, two friends of mine showed up en-route to GNEW to crash (they had come up from NJ and the site is another 2 hours from where I live). We managed to get them talking for awhile before heading to bed. The morning came, bringing with it more random SCA talk before Chad and Ronan departed. As they left I realized I was starting to look forward to Pennsic.
We eventually got up, and headed out to Random’s party with the aforementioned brownies. Much fun was had by all…’cept I had caffeine before we got there and couldn’t settle down for the first hour or so as a result. This leant itself to me being prone to wander around the social gathering. Met some lovely people whose names escape me at the moment.
The biggest result of the party was that I finally broke down and bought City of Heroes just due to all the conversation about it. :) I’m massively looking forward to playing. I’m all set up and just need to finish the tutorials.
We left Random’s about 6ish to meet up with Miles, an old friend of mine from RPI. Miles is jumpy spastic cool. We’ve been friends for something on the order of 10 years now but I hadn’t seen him for any length of time for about a year so I was very glad to see him. We grabbed some food together and went to Jim and Jessi’s house warming. Pool, and robo rally ensued. Robo Rally is an amusing game and I plan to pick it up at some point.
From there, we headed to dougansf’s with Miles in tow to crash. The next morning we went to breakfast with Miles and Minh. I rediscovered that Minh was living in Somerville and I’ve determined I must hang out with him more. Then it was goodbyes, and off to sushi. Very good weekend, very busy. :)
