well, the crack grew from 2 inches to MUCH bigger during the time I was in my apartment for lunch. I called the company and they said to bring it in. Idrove to the other side of town to the glass company and I watched the crack grow further as I drove over there. It's rather freaky to watch glass sloooowly crack.

The glass company is claiming that another rock hit the windshield and that they can't just replace it despite it being only 2 or 3 days old. The crack is a bit below mid-way up on the driver's side and may still grow some. It's not raised on the outside or the inside of the glass.

The crack is also now bigger or just about the size of a dollar which in the weird world of Geico means it's not automatically covered, and my deductable must be taken into account, which due to its size means I'll have to buy a new windshield all by myself again. :(

The glass company knocked $50 off the price (down to $150) and offered to let me use a payment plan if I needed. It still seems off somehow, to get hit with 2 rocks in such a short period of time, and I have to wonder if they didn't over stress the windshield putting it in.

I called my local dealership to see if there was anything odd about the glass in my car or the way it had to be installed, but they were pretty clueless.

I could take the car to another shop, but they'd just charge more....so I'll get it replaced by the same guys tomorrow and hope nothing further happens.

ah well, at least I got to eat some of a Cadbury Flake bar this morning. chocolate=good.
