1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before?
be single at pennsic? not sure I have a better answer than that
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
i don't remember....i generally don't. I'm constantly trying to improve things....once a year resolutions seem foolish in that context.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
nope...
4. Did anyone close to you die?
not anyone really close but my grandmother who I hadn't seen in a long time. mixed feelings there..as she wasn't there fully mentally for awhile.
5. What countries did you visit?
nope, i've never been out of the country. not even to Canada. need to fix that sometime
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
an organized and clean apartment (this is in process, and really just an issue of doing it)
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
The last night I was at pennsic...cause I went looking for someone
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
i'm not sure....it's really too soon to tell; probably making some really necessary changes in my social life.
9. What was your biggest failure?
still having too much stress in my life (or not dealing with it as smoothly as I'd like), but this is and has been getting better. I try not to dwell on failures.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
sick a good deal
11. What was the best thing you bought?
tickets to Blue Man group or some amazing sari fabric. presents for others mostly
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
I'd have to agree with Badger on this- I'm not much on the celebration either; I just thank people quietly
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
at times several people....including me (but not too horribly).
14. Where did most of your money go?
trying to pay off bills; fun; sca stuff; fabric
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
people, social gatherings. a few books and movies
16. What song will always remind you of 2003?
strangely b/c i heard it this morning, White Flag by Dido and also that overplayed Outcast song cause it was so overplayed

happier

poorer but making strides
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
be happy; visit certain friends....
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
worry; overbook myself socially (I did NOT need to fence 5 times a week!); needed to take more time to just be and meditate
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
with family. may see some friends who live down that way as well which would be keen.

none (that's *really* not my style)
24. What was your favorite TV program?
what is this TV thing you speak of? ;)

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Hate is a strong emotion and I try not to hate. It's too cancerous a thing. However, there are people I avoid more actively.
26. What was the best book you read?
A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Evanesence or Andy Stochansky (folk type music)
28. What did you want and get?
a better social life, a better sense of self esteem
29. What did you want and not get?
not sure....could put a lot of little quibbles here but dwelling on stuff like that just gets one down.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Pirates of the Caribbean. hands down.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old?
It was a Tuesday. I was at work, they gave me cake, and then I went fencing that night. 27.
I've actually answered the how old are you question wrong several times this week.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
materially - not having debts
spirtually - a greater sense of purpose in some areas
but I'm working on that too.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?
comfortable and casual but presentable
34. What kept you sane?
friends....mostly one new one
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
depends on how you mean fancy...
Orlando Bloom amuses me.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
the way the media was handling the middle east.
37. Who did you miss?
devil_bunny, she lives too far away.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Dougansf, though I met a lot of great new people this year (orionsmom, janie, etc) and feel really happy about that
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003:
I think I'm still learning it; not totally sure what it is, I think that it may be it actually is alright to talk about certain experiences with those who will understand. There are some others as well.

I don't think I can actively care that much about song lyrics; besides a year isn't one song-
it's many. it's countless vignettes and melodies intertwined. One song is too limiting.
