Just as a note, I hate the following question.

In a criminal justice system, it would be preferable to:

-convict an innocent person.
-let a guilty person go free.

I've seen different versions of it but the idea is basically the same. I guess my favorite nuance on this is it better to have system with no mercy or a system with mercy that may convict the innocent.
