so i belong to a gym in town....it's open 24-7. it cost my $99 to join and is $15 a month there-after. not bad.
my company not a corporate account...$29 to join, $10 a month. much better.
people in my company have switched over...without giving in the initial joining fee again. When I went tonight they tried to charge me for this b/c it had to be a new contract. I got really irritate and left. I should have tried sweet talking them. It's probably what happened with everyone else.
I may go tomorrow to see if they'll do it then. They waive the fees all the time. I have a letter in my hand (that came today in the mail) offering to do just that..waive the starting fee for a friend and give them a $15 a month deal. I wouldn't be that upset about the money except I already paid the initial fee once...and others haven't ever had to. It pisses me off b/c i don't have an extra $29 to spend (even though for a gym it's not much) and due to sickness, muscle strains, etc I've barely gone to the gym since joining less than a year ago. I'm actually thinking of quitting, and rejoining in the winter if they won't budge on this.
