Mar. 15th, 2008 09:35 pmI'm not exactly *why* I or anyone else needs self-heating cans of coffee or hot cocoa but they make, and my local Walmart is selling them. The instructions involve turning the cans over, pulling off a metal lid to press a button "until green water drains"....and then waiting 5-8 minutes.
It seems like a great deal of effort (and contained chemical reaction) to get a cup of hot cocoa. I think I'd rather use a Coleman stove.
Plus I'm a bit disturbed by the warning not to pour the cocoa out, but to drink from the container.
Still I suppose there are limited applications or a niche they fill...or something.
