good but tired weekend
Jul. 28th, 2003 08:46 amshort version of this weekend - i suck. i have a mild sinus infection from my allergies (again) and it's making me tired and not very quick on the up-take. I didn't make falconridge nor get to see Andy, whom I adore, because when I woke up saturday morning the room was very happy to be spinning around me and I determined I was very happy to be in bed rather than being up. *hearty sighs and a little bit of whining but nothing very serious except missing out on a good friend and some wonderful music*
I spent saturday morning in bed reading and the late afternoon cleaning with my brand new vaccuum....it is truly amusing to me how much I like my new vaccuuum and how truly terrifying my rugs had become with dirt before it's arrival.
I contemplated going to the festival sunday morning but still felt too out of it. At some point I got through the lethargy of the day and got up feeling quite a bit better. I wound up doing a little sewing and heading towards fencing.
I picked up Jenn on this circuit and we headed down to cambridge. I was super happy to see Morgan show up :)
I fought a few bouts...got hit harder than usual by a couple of people (my sensitivity may have been up), got hit on the collarbone a few times, and got hit several times on the bruises that stephen (nice returning fencer with some minor calibration issues) had given me on thursday....after about the 4th time of being hit on existing bruises I decided to give up for the day. I was having fun and wanted to keep fencing but my body wasn't willing. it didn't want swords...it wanted nice soft cushy beds and blankies. Instead of this I gave it gatoraide and made it laze in the sun...not a bad trade all around...i hope it works at Pennsic.
we grabbed food afterwards and then while talking to Christian got approached by a very hyper woman looking for money to save her son/daughter (it changed during the story)...it was interesting getting away from her.
i still suck though....didn't make the festival and wasn't moving at near normal speeds most of last night.
blah.
