Mar. 9th, 2003 10:05 ami had just about as perfect a day as you can reasonably expect yesterday. I got up at 6:30 because the birds were chirping and ti was light out...puttered around my apartment, found my garb and got dressed while listening to dar williams, martin sexton, the nields, etc, basically whatever came up on the playlist. Kay showed up about 8-8:30 and we hopped in my car...grabbed bkfst at dunkin donuts, and headed out onto the road. We took Rt.2 out to Greenfield, passing of course through Gardner, New England's furniture capital on the way. Eventually we made it to Greenfield.
In Greenfield we went to the community college for Bergental's Birthday which also happened to be the north central fencing championship and the known world cribbage tournament. They set up the fencing tournament so it was melees with groups of 3s and then 2s and then singles. I made it to the 2s because I had great people on my team, Balthazar (from Concordia) and Malcolm (who came up from the NYC area). Much happy goodness. I got to meet jack the black again and play with people I used to see every week when I lived in Amherst. I have really missed them.
It was great to be back in my old barony. It got me confused from time to time. I told one person I lived in Northampton when I meant NH. I felt so at home, comparitively. It was just a nice event, joking around with friends old and new. Afterwards, the post revel was at Arioch's and that was great too. We hopped back on the road by 9:30 and were back by midnight (later than we had planned but early enough that I got some sleep for my flight out today)
