lots of things

well, nick came up for wednesday and thursday (hurrah!). We had a good time. I took him fencing on wednesday night and he got to talk pierre about war and things and learn some fencing moves. i'm really worried about how things will be once he leaves but i figure i'll write him a lot, etc. and all will be fine. :)

in other news-
chrissy and jeanette both bought the exact same carnations to give to their housemates, mainly me and jeanette or chrissy respectively. That was amusing. hmmm..not sure that sentence makes complete sense but we must forge onward into the vast world of grammer, sentence structure, and innuendo. hmmm..oh never mind.

i'm in an odd mood today.

I spent a decent amount of time at lunch today hanging out with people and being social. Nice change from the rest of this week when I was on campus. Got to actually SEE people after all.

mmmm.....butter

last night I made butter cookies, both the cookie cutter kind and the jelly drop type. Nothing quite says holidays to me like butter cookies. I remember my mom making batches of them right before xmas when I was little.

it's funny the things you remember or what can jog your memory back.

Yesterday I also realized that while I was at RPI, I took the swim test. This was test you had to pass to graduate the college. They made you swim 2 laps and tread water for 60 seconds. I took it my freshman year and then the school did away with it as a requirement.
I had completely forgotten about the experience until jeanette mentioned something about people getting their degrees years later for want of one requirement.
