Dec. 15th, 2003 09:59 amwell overall the weekend was interesting/good. Saturday wound up being orionsmom's bead thing and then on to the LOTR flashback at Dave's. A couple of quick observations-
-Entish poetry is almost as bad as Vogan poetry
-Sometimes treebard sounds a lot like Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh
-what makes a half elf, a half elf is confusing; and led to discussions about what made someone black in this country and references to the musical Showboat were made. Anna was confused and was mixing showboat up with Oklahoma...which just lent another layer of horror to the discussion.
Sunday I got up later than planned and eventually made it out to Jim and Jessie's. much talkie talkie. probably will do again. The snow started coming down at some point, and my drive back was *not* fun, in the way that stark terror is *not* fun. It took me roughly 2 hours to go 20 miles and I wound up staying at hotel last night in Chelmsford (exit 34 off of 495, Jim and Jessi's is exit 31 plus about 15 miles). The roads around Jim and Jessi's were too bad to go back and I had hoped 495 would be better; it wasn't. I got into work by a reasonable time this morning but it seems like half the office isn't in due to the storm and the roads up here were coated with ice.
